When your plans take you into the roughest backcountry or on a multi-day backpacking adventure where there will be challenging terrain and obstacles, use enough boot. These uninsulated women's mountain boots are constructed to get you there and back without you having to worry about your feet. Construction starts with full grain, nubuck leather uppers that provide a high level of support and are backed by waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex® to keep moisture out while allowing perspiration vapor to escape. (Gore-Tex® Stretch lines the heel area without any blister - or hot spot-causing seams.) Internal protection comes from the MFS® (Memory Foam System) that wraps your entire foot in a cushioning custom-like fit. There's also an Air Active® Insole that provides a cushioned moisture-managing footbed that wicks perspiration away from your feet and distributes weight across the entire foot. Another thing we like in these hardcore hikers is the DiGAfix® lacing system that snugs the upper around your instep without creating pressure points, plus it locks your heel in place so there's not friction-and blister-causing hotspots. Traction comes from the Meindl-exclusive Vibram® Multigriff Alpin rigid rubber grip outsole that provides a stable, secure walking platform, especially on the difficult terrain, thanks to aggressive, multi-directional lugs that grab and grip even on uneven terrain and in difficult conditions. These are all-terrain, four season hikers, fully capable of taking on the worst conditions. And they are crampon compatible if the going gets even tougher. Also available in a men's style Himalaya MFS®. Made in Germany

15 miles so far and they feel great.
I bought these boots because I wanted something for walking the West Highland Way (Scotland) in June 2023. I am 54 (will be almost 55 by the hike) and in excellent shape but realistic about the terrain (often rainy, rocky and boggy) and the need for excellent foot comfort and ankle support.
I got them about 3 weeks ago and tried them out last weekend. I will preface this by acknowledging this was a dumb move, one should always break a boot in, but we were going to the Adirondaks to climb Mt. Marcy and Skylight. The conditions were wet, boggy and rocky so I knew this would be a perfect way to see if this was the right boot. I carried a backpack with a gallon of water and basic supplies (decent weight but less than I will be carrying next year).
The conditions were so massy. I went through water and thick boggy mud. I did the elevations of Marcy and Skylight with great traction. I could easily navigate the obstacles of the Avalanche trail on my loop back. I was hiking from 7 am until 11 pm and the shoes were filthy but great. I was the only one who had dry feet. On the assent of Marcy, I was having discomfort on the front of my right leg just above the ankle but after relacing (firm in the heel and looser on top, I was fine (this was probably due to not breaking them in at all beforehand.
This is a hardcore, heavy boot but they are like tanks - solid sturdy and durable. They give incredible support and traction. they are completely waterproof - a godsend with the mud - I…
The boots are very comfortable, waterproof, and the service was excellent when I ordered a half size to small and needed expedited shipping for my replacement. For the woman's boots. I followed the "order a half size smaller than normal" suggestion and it was half a size to small. I recommend you actual boot size for these boots.
We want your Meindl footwear to not only fit your feet but also your outdoor lifestyle. No matter where you are or what you are exploring, it is critical your footwear fits properly. Our boots and shoes are constructed using different manufacturing techniques and different lasts (forms) which helps us tailor our boots and shoes to excel in different environments.
The construction technique and last we select to build each style can make that particular boot or shoe fit differently, even within our own line of products, which is why it is important for you to follow our fitting guidelines to get you into the correct size.Because the last and the manufacturing technique we use can change the way our footwear fits, Meindl USA gives guidance for proper fitting on each style we sell. All of our sizing recommendations are based off the Brannock measuring device, which is why it is critical to have your foot measured using that device.
We collectively have decades of experience fitting Meindl footwear to the person and activity, so our fitting guidelines come with the knowledge needed to ensure you get the correct fit.At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
