Meindl Kibo GTX Hunter delivers our greatest cold-weather protection for hunts that take you where extreme cold and snow are an everyday fact of life. These are the first boots in the U.S. to feature Gore Air Fibre 600 comfort technology which combines durability, waterproofness, and breathability with high-bulk fleece insulation made of hollow synthetic fibers to trap more air while weighing 15 percent less than comparable insulations. In short, more warmth with less weight on your feet on high-country hunts where every ounce counts. The durable nubuck leather upper provides a full 10 inches of ankle support (and a stout B/C stiffness rating) to help you safely maneuver up, down, and across steep inclines. Interior comfort comes from the anatomically designed Air Active Winter insoles which incorporate felt surfaces with aluminum layers to better distribute heat to your toes. For waterproof protection, a full Gore-Tex membrane keeps moisture out while allowing perspiration vapor to escape. On the outside, Meindl's two-part multi-grip Rock Outsoles provide the latest technology to help you maintain traction and walking comfort even in tough alpine conditions. Here's how it works. The outer perimeter of the sole is made of grippy, abrasion-resistant rubber with a flexible but sharp-edged tread while the inner portion features molded-in aluminum shards for additional grip and durability as well as multi-directional self-cleaning tread profile that helps ensure a no-slip grip on slick, rocky, wintery surfaces. In addition, a full rubber rand protects from cuts and abrasions from rocky, unforgiving terrain. High-country hunts for sheep, goats, or elk, or any adventure that demands peak performance in extreme conditions, lace on Meindl's ultimate alpine boots, Kibo GTX. Made in Slovenia

"Serious high-country hunts demand peak performance from both man and his gear. Whether your postholing through December’s snowy dark timber for a last-minute elk or climbing into the clouds after spiral-horned sheep and ivory mountain goats, you can count on the Kibos to get you there and back."

Boot that you can trust with your life.
At age 46 I broke my left ankle in 5-places. Took me 4-years to achieve enough flex in my ankle to strap it into a boot. I soon realized lateral support of my ankle while not placing pressure directly on the front where I have significant scare tissue is critical. My first pair of Meindl boots achieve a level of easy entry, comfort, warmth and lateral stability in need. I added a Dr. Scholls foot bed to the boot which raised my heel which is necessary for me because my damaged ankle just does not flex forward like my original God given ankle. At 62, I hope to get a few more years hunting in these boots before I replace them with another pair of Meindl's. Great hunting boot!
I’m 68 years old, been hunting since I was 16. Have never purchased a premium hunting boot, thought I was too old to now. Glad I did, wanted a well insulated boot. The feet don’t stay warm like they used to. So far am not disappointed, didn’t take long at all to break in. I was worried about the rope loops, so far so good. Put on a lot of miles this year hunting mule deer here in North Central Montana. Will use them for ice fishing too. Thanks Todd for all your help.
I’m an alska resident and I have worn meindl boots from wild land fire fighting in alska and throughout the pacific north west. Use them for moose, sheep, and caribou hunting. Work as an equipment operator now and still wear them at work winter and summer. I have nothing but the highest regards for all the meindl boots I have owned. Even had a Pulaski cut in my boot sent them in and received a new pair quickly. I have several Pairs of these boots and i will continue to purchase them for years to come. Thanks meindl
We want your Meindl footwear to not only fit your feet but also your outdoor lifestyle. No matter where you are or what you are exploring, it is critical your footwear fits properly. Our boots and shoes are constructed using different manufacturing techniques and different lasts (forms) which helps us tailor our boots and shoes to excel in different environments.
The construction technique and last we select to build each style can make that particular boot or shoe fit differently, even within our own line of products, which is why it is important for you to follow our fitting guidelines to get you into the correct size.Because the last and the manufacturing technique we use can change the way our footwear fits, Meindl USA gives guidance for proper fitting on each style we sell. All of our sizing recommendations are based off the Brannock measuring device, which is why it is critical to have your foot measured using that device.
We collectively have decades of experience fitting Meindl footwear to the person and activity, so our fitting guidelines come with the knowledge needed to ensure you get the correct fit.At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
