The Comfort Fit Hiker was built for the hunter who hikes and the hiker who sometimes hunts and for anyone who covers real ground across unpredictable terrain without wanting to think too hard about their footwear. At 7.25 inches tall, it sits in the sweet spot between a lightweight trail boot and a capable hunting boot, designed to perform across both without compromising either.

The Comfort Fit last is the foundation. Wider and more anatomically shaped than a standard last, it works with your foot instead of against it, reducing fatigue on the long days that serious hiking and early-season hunting demand. A cork insole adds long-term underfoot comfort that gets better the more you wear it, and the B medium flex rating provides natural movement and responsive feel across varied terrain.

Gore-Tex® waterproof lining keeps your feet dry across the morning dew, stream crossings, and the variable conditions that come with shoulder-season use, whether that means a wet September hiking trail or an early-season elk opener in unpredictable mountain weather. DiGAfix® lacing wraps your ankle securely, and the Vibram® outsole delivers the kind of traction you stop second-guessing after the first few outings.

Built with a nubuck leather upper and handcrafted in Germany, the Comfort Fit Hiker is the boot you reach for when the plan is loose, the terrain is mixed, and you want one boot that's ready for all of it.

The Comfort Fit Hiker is built for hunting and hiking in low mountain terrain, offering a balanced feel of support and comfort for all-day use. From the first wear, expect a supportive but manageable structure through the midfoot and heel as the boot begins responding to your foot and natural movement.

Begin by wearing the boots indoors to confirm fit, sock choice, and lacing tension, making small adjustments to ensure a secure and comfortable hold. Once the fit feels consistent, transition into short walks on flat ground to allow the boot to begin flexing naturally before moving into longer hikes and varied low-mountain terrain.

From there, use the boots across light hiking terrain, short walks, and varied daily use to help the materials gradually adapt under real movement. The nubuck leather will soften over time, allowing the upper to feel more flexible and responsive without losing its supportive structure. The cork insole will also begin to gently mold to your foot, enhancing underfoot comfort and creating a more personalized feel with continued wear.

With continued wear, the fit becomes more fluid and stable, delivering a comfortable balance of support and flexibility. The result is a dependable hunting and hiking boot built for low mountain terrain, offering steady performance and improving comfort over time.

Nubuck leather benefits from consistent care to preserve its durability, breathable structure, and water-resistant performance over time. After use, allow the boots to dry naturally before removing surface dirt with a soft brush to keep the leather clean and ready for treatment.

Once prepared, apply the Meindl Wet Proof Spray evenly across the entire upper, ensuring full but light coverage so the treatment can absorb properly into the material. Allow the boots to dry completely before moving to the next step.

After drying, apply Meindl Sport Wax to the leather, tongue, and eyelets. Work the wax gently into the leather to reinforce protection while maintaining flexibility and comfort under movement.

This combination of spray and wax helps maintain the balance between weather resistance, breathability and long-term durability, keeping the leather performing consistently through regular use in varied conditions.

    Play it Again, Sam!

    I bought a pair of Comfort Fit Hikers 20 years ago when I was in my mid-50s. They were comfortable as a pair of slippers. Expensive, but I justified it to my wife by saying they would be my last pair of boots! Now I'm in my mid-70s and still going (not as fast and not as far), but my old boots finally gave up on me. Now for a new pair!

    Many Trail Miles

    This is the third pair of Meindl boots I have purchased (two Comfort fit Hikers and one Comfort Fit Hunter). The soles of my old Comfort Fit Hiker boots finally gave out after 15 years. They are of outstanding quality and provide excellent support while being extremely comfortable. I have worn many different boot brands over my 70 years, as a forester and as an avid hiker. Meindl boots are the best.

    First boot

    I never heard of this company till I saw a review in BACKPACKER Magazine. I ended a new boot and gave them a try. Their 30-day money-back warranty helped me decide to try something new. I talked to Sam in support several times, and he helped me find the best boot for my needs. Just wow! No break-in. A 9-mile hike right out of the box, and pure comfort and support. The sole's stiffness seemed balanced. At this point, I can highly recommend giving this boot a try.
