A lightweight waterproof light hiking trail shoe for active outdoor users who want Vibram® outsole grip, Gore-Tex® all-weather protection, and meaningful ankle coverage in an agile, trail shoe-like package built for all-terrain use.

The Antero 2.0 GTX Mid sits at the crossroads of trail shoe and light hiking boot, built for active outdoor users who want the lightweight feel and natural movement of a trail shoe with the grip, coverage, and waterproofing of a capable hiking platform. At 6 inches, it provides meaningful ankle support without the weight of a traditional hiking boot, making it the right choice for light hiking, all-terrain trail use, and the active outdoor days that cross between groomed trail and real terrain.

The Vibram® outsole is what makes the Antero 2.0 GTX Mid stand apart from standard trail shoes. Vibram® provides the level of traction and durability that serious all-terrain outdoor use demands, confident on wet rock, loose dirt, rooted trail, and the varied difficult surfaces that light hiking consistently encounters. In a shoe as lightweight and agile as the Antero 2.0, that grip gives you the confidence to move fast without second-guessing your footing.

Suede leather and mesh construction delivers the breathability and flexibility that active light hiking demands while providing the durability and weather resistance that regular outdoor use requires. Gore-Tex® waterproof lining handles creek crossings, wet trail sections, and unpredictable mountain weather without adding the weight or stiffness of a full hiking boot. At 6 inches on a standard last with an Air Active insole and handcrafted in Germany to Meindl's exacting standards, the Antero 2.0 GTX Mid is all-terrain grip and lightweight confidence built to go.

The Antero 2.0 GTX Mid is built for trail and light hiking use, designed to deliver a balanced combination of support, flexibility, and all-day comfort across varied terrain. It provides immediate comfort from the first step with little to no break-in required for a lightweight hiking boot.

Begin by wearing the boots during short walks and everyday use to confirm fit and adjust lacing for a secure, balanced hold through the midfoot and ankle. This short familiarization period ensures the boot settles naturally to your foot, as it is designed for an easy, ready-to-wear feel.

From there, transition directly into trail walking and light hiking over dirt paths, gravel, and uneven ground. The lightweight construction supports natural movement while maintaining stability and comfort throughout varied outdoor use.

Any initial stiffness is minimal and typically fades within the first few wears. The result is a versatile trail and light hiking boot that feels comfortable immediately and continues to adapt with consistent use on and off the trail.

Suede leather should be cared for regularly to maintain its soft texture, natural appearance, and long-term protection against moisture and wear. After use, allow the boots to dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources, before any cleaning treatment is applied.

Once fully dry, use a soft brush to gently lift dirt and restore the surface texture, working evenly across the upper. This prepares the material for treatment while helping preserve the natural finish of the suede.

After cleaning, apply Meindl's suede leather conditioner & proofer evenly across the upper. Allow the product to sit for 24 hours to dry completely and absorb into the leather. The goal is even, light coverage that enhances protection without saturating or flattening the surface.

With regular care, suede maintains its soft structure, breathable feel, and natural look while staying protected through changing conditions and repeated wear.
