A technical alpine hiking and early-season hunting boot for serious mountain hikers and backcountry hunters who demand Air Revolution climate-controlled performance, Gore-Tex® waterproofing, and full-system protection on demanding high-country terrain.
The Air Revolution Alpine 4.1 Hiker is Meindl's technical mountain hiking and hunting boot for serious alpine terrain. Built around the Air Revolution sole system, engineered to deliver superior climate-controlled performance across the sustained demands of high-altitude use, this is a boot designed for the days when the terrain is demanding, the conditions are variable, and performance can't be negotiated.
Air Revolution technology actively manages climate control and breathability across the varying output levels that mountain hiking produces, keeping your feet cool and comfortable whether you're grinding up a long approach or picking your way across technical ground. Combined with a B/C medium-stiff flex rating, the Alpine 4.1 delivers the torsional stability that serious mountain terrain demands.
At 7.5 inches with a suede leather upper and DiGAfix® lacing, the Alpine 4.1 Hiker provides full ankle coverage and a precise, adjustable fit on technical terrain. Gore-Tex® waterproof lining handles all-weather mountain conditions and the Vibram® outsole provides dependable grip on the wet rock, loose shale, and mixed alpine surfaces that high-mountain use consistently involves.
Built on a standard last with an Air Active insole and handcrafted in Germany, the Air Revolution Alpine 4.1 Hiker is the right choice for alpine hikers and early-season mountain hunters who demand technical performance, climate-managed comfort, and a boot built to handle whatever the mountain brings.

This is my first experience with Miendl ,
I'm very impressed. I usually take a size 10. per recommendation I ordered a 9.5 the fit is spot on.
Would recommend Meindl to anyone looking for a
serious boot
It is less flexible than I tought
I have a couple of weird spots on my feet so I was reluctant to order boots on line. Using the fit guide and advice from Meindl phone support, I got a perfect fit. I’m still breaking them in, I’ve worn them for over ten hours each day for a week; no hot spots my feet have never felt better. I keep showing my wife what my feet look like when I take them off.
Very comfortable, very supportive.
Been a Meindl loyalist for close to 30 years. Of course, like most people I was introduced to the brand through Cabela’s in the early 90s. Started with a ComfortFit hiker. As a casual hiker, got close to 20 years out of those, and they never once took in water. Moved into the light hiker, and after two pairs, was looking for something with more of an Alpine fit. Call customer service to ask about the Alpine hiker 4.1 and Dan or Sam (hearing is not what it wants was ) talk me through the sizing and I sized up half size from the light hikers. The toolbox is not nearly as wide, but I’m able to splay my toes and the fit was exactly what I was looking for.
Just finished a 2 mile hike in about 6 inches of snow for the first run and I couldn’t be happier. They actually feel warmer than the light hikers and this support is amazing. Looking forward to putting on a couple hundred more miles over the course of this winter and early spring. Will definitely check back in with a review after some extend extended use. Thank you once again to the team at Meindl for the time in care they put into ensuring customers get the proper boot and fit. The time will you typically get an automated response on the phone, I’m so happy to see that after all these years that their customer standard has not been compromised in the least.
