"Top rated hiking boot, early season hunting boot, or perfect for all those pre-season scouting trips. Classic uninsulated style that provides you the support needed when you need to get off the trail."
I love boots, I've treasured boots from the time I graduated from the police academy to this day, some three decades later. When I venture outdoors, my go-to footwear is boots, rather than sandals (of any kind).
These are probably the best trekking boots I've owned, rivalled only by Scarpa whose soles started coming off recently after 8 years of continuous wear. This in no way is to suggest the other Meindl boots are inferior to the Bergel MFS Hiker that I bought (along with the Chukka). They may even be better, but this only shows the Meindl brand is at the very top.
I posted a review of this boot earlier. It is an excellent boot. I now have about 90 miles on them, and just finished some really rugged mountain hikes in the Blue Ridge and Smoky mountain ranges. The boots were really good. They were tough and comfortable the whole way. Most particularly, and importantly, they were comfortable coming down off the mountains. Ten miles and more of continuous down the mountain can be really hard on feet, and these boots did great. As always, the proper size is key, but the inner form fitting cushion system molded pretty much perfectly to my feet. The boots are holding up perfectly too. No part of the boot is showing any quality issue and they still look fresh. There is no doubt in my mind, I would not hesitate to buy this boot all over again when the time comes. I truly love these boots. They are an outstanding pair of boots.
This is my second pair of Meindls. For me Meindls fit like a glove. Not too stiff, excellent support and very comfortable. I expect these to serve me well for a long time. My first pair are over 10 years old and have never let me down, never leaked through the Gore-tex. Their customer service is great at answering question in helping me get the right pair and fit.
These boots are so comfortable. Haven’t worn them hunting, yet, but I’m sure I’ll love them as much as my other Meindles.
Great boots. I lut a ton of miles on these training dogs and hunting. Very comfortable after long days in the field. Rand started separating and I thought I had a leak, Meindl sent me a free shipping lable to send thwm to their cobbler to be fixed/tested. Within a week they were tested, a leak was found, and a new replacement pair was at my door. All free of charge witj little effort on my part.
We want your Meindl footwear to not only fit your feet but also your outdoor lifestyle. No matter where you are or what you are exploring, it is critical your footwear fits properly. Our boots and shoes are constructed using different manufacturing techniques and different lasts (forms) which helps us tailor our boots and shoes to excel in different environments.
The construction technique and last we select to build each style can make that particular boot or shoe fit differently, even within our own line of products, which is why it is important for you to follow our fitting guidelines to get you into the correct size.Because the last and the manufacturing technique we use can change the way our footwear fits, Meindl USA gives guidance for proper fitting on each style we sell. All of our sizing recommendations are based off the Brannock measuring device, which is why it is critical to have your foot measured using that device.
We collectively have decades of experience fitting Meindl footwear to the person and activity, so our fitting guidelines come with the knowledge needed to ensure you get the correct fit.At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
