Meindl Gore-Tex® Footwear
Wet feet are the fastest way to ruin a hunt, a hike, or a day outdoors. Meindl Gore-Tex® footwear is engineered to solve that problem permanently. Every boot and shoe in this collection features a Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane — the gold standard in waterproof breathable technology — keeping water out while allowing moisture vapor to escape so your feet stay dry from both directions.
Meindl’s Gore-Tex lineup spans every category — from lightweight Gore-Tex walking shoes for everyday all-weather use to fully waterproof backcountry hunting boots and technical mountaineering footwear. Every pair is available in Comfort Fit® and Standard lasts, built in Germany with premium materials, and backed by Meindl’s boot repair program.
Top 3 questions on Meindl Gore-Tex footwear
The Gore-Tex membrane itself lasts the life of the boot, but the leather upper’s DWR coating needs periodic refreshing. Clean with a soft brush and water after use, then apply Meindl Sport Wax while the leather is slightly damp. Regular treatment keeps water beading off the surface and maintains the full breathable waterproof system.
The Gore-Tex membrane doesn’t wear out, but the leather upper’s outer DWR coating degrades with use and exposure. Boots that feel like they’re wetting out often just need a Meindl Sport Wax treatment to restore the DWR — not a waterproofing replacement. With proper care the full system performs well for the life of the boot.
Yes — the Gore-Tex membrane is in the boot lining, not the outsole. Resoling through Meindl’s boot repair program replaces the Vibram outsole only and has no effect on the waterproof membrane, so your boots retain full waterproof performance after resoling.
