The Top Trail GTX Low is Meindl's everyday trail shoe for people who want waterproof protection and reliable grip without the weight of a hiking boot. Versatile trail performance in a low-cut package, built for the morning trail loops, woodland paths, and mixed-surface outdoor routes that everyday trail users cover most.

Variofix lacing provides a precise, adjustable fit across the foot that holds consistently through the varied movement of active trail use, keeping the shoe feeling dialed-in whether you're on a groomed trail or navigating rougher ground. The ultra-light A flex rating keeps the Top Trail GTX Low feeling responsive and natural underfoot, and the Air Active insole provides cushioning and support for the daily miles that regular trail users put in.

At 4.5 inches on a standard last and handcrafted in Germany to Meindl's exacting standards, the Top Trail GTX Low is the everyday trail performance shoe that shows up reliably and gets out of the way so you can focus on the trail ahead.

The Top Trail GTX Low is built for everyday walking and light trail use, designed to deliver a lightweight, flexible feel across mixed terrain and daily movement. It provides immediate comfort from the first step with little to no break-in required for a low-cut trail shoe.

Begin by wearing the shoes for short walks and everyday use to confirm fit and adjust lacing for a secure, balanced hold through the midfoot. This short familiarization period ensures the shoe settles naturally to your foot, as it is designed for an easy, ready-to-wear feel.

From there, transition directly into walking, paved paths, and light trail use over dirt, gravel, and uneven ground. The lightweight construction and Gore-Tex protection work together to provide comfort, breathability, and reliable weather protection throughout daily activity.

Any initial stiffness is minimal and typically fades within the first few wears. The result is a dependable walking and trail shoe that feels comfortable immediately and continues to adapt with consistent everyday use.

Suede leather should be cared for regularly to maintain its soft texture, natural appearance, and long-term protection against moisture and wear. After use, allow the boots to dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources, before any cleaning treatment is applied.

Once fully dry, use a soft brush to gently lift dirt and restore the surface texture, working evenly across the upper. This prepares the material for treatment while helping preserve the natural finish of the suede.

After cleaning, apply Meindl's suede leather conditioner & proofer evenly across the upper. Allow the product to sit for 24 hours to dry completely and absorb into the leather. The goal is even, light coverage that enhances protection without saturating or flattening the surface.

With regular care, suede maintains its soft structure, breathable feel, and natural look while staying protected through changing conditions and repeated wear.

    Meindl Shoes/Boots

    I lived in Germany for 17 years and I learned of Meindl footwear and accessories there. I've ordered from Meindl USA before. My latest order arrived with a fit that was too large. I immediately returned them. I'm awaiting my replacement shoes once Meindl gets them. The bottom line is that Meindl USA provides excellent products and their customer service is outstanding. I'll always be a Meindl customer. My ratings below is a result of previous footwear and I expect my forthcoming shoes will be the same.
