A technical waterproof trail shoe for serious trail users who want Vibram® outsole grip, Variofix precision lacing, and Gore-Tex® protection in a lightweight, agile package built for the demanding terrain that standard trail shoes can't handle.
The Literock Free Trail Shoe is built for the trails that test your gear. Technical terrain. Difficult ground. Routes where traction matters, fit precision matters, and the shoe on your foot is the difference between confidence and hesitation. This is Meindl's trail shoe for serious trail users who don't want a hiking boot but need more than a casual trail walker.
The Vibram® outsole is the performance foundation, delivering aggressive grip and durability that technical trail use demands across wet rock, rooted terrain, loose dirt, and the varied difficult surfaces that the most interesting trails consistently offer. Paired with Variofix lacing that wraps the foot precisely and holds it securely through fast movement and technical footwork, the Literock Free gives you the traction and fit control that demanding trail terrain requires.
Gore-Tex® waterproof lining provides reliable all-weather protection across creek crossings, wet trail sections, and unpredictable weather without adding the weight or rigidity of a full hiking boot. At 4.5 inches on a standard last with an Air Active insole and handcrafted in Germany to Meindl's exacting standards, the Literock Free Trail Shoe is for the trail users who want to go harder, go faster, and go into terrain that most trail shoes aren't built for.
Great shoes, love them for casual wear. Very supportive.
Great kicks. I liked them from the pics on webpage. Like them more in person. Excited to wear these for MANY years. The build quality I’ve seen so far gives me confidence that I’ll get 10 years + out of these shoes. Comfortable as well.
Thumbs up!
Awesome shoes super comfortable. I have worn to work everyday since purchase.
Ordered these as new everyday wear shoes have had them for about 2 weeks. They are my go too summer wear. Just as comfortable as my Comfort Walkers which I have been wearing for years.

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
