Meindl's Best Selling Go-Anywhere Uninsulated Hunting Boot
Thanks to an innovative boot-within-a-boot design, these high-country mountain hunting boots wrap your feet stabilizing comfort. Inside the full grain nubuck leather uppers, MFS Vakuum foam panels form to the shape of your feet, ensuring a perfect fit without uncomfortably tights pressure points common in lesser-made technical boots. Special stretch Gore-Tex, waterproof linings do away with standard heal seams, eliminating yet another potential blister-forming hot spot. Between the Air-Active insoles and gripping Vibram Alpin outsoles, polyurethane midsoles push you through each step while allowing for the addition of soft crampons. Also available in a women's style Lady Vakuum® GTX. Made in Germany
"Vakuum Hunter boots will carry you to the top of the mountain in all but the most difficult terrain. While the stiff uppers provide maximum ankle support when climbing, the inner reticulated foam booties deliver a solid, foot-gripping fit and feel for comfort and stability. Uninsulated, yet fully waterproof, they’re a solid choice for high-country hunts that could take you well past the timberline and into the rocks above."
This is my 4th pair of this boot. I have been wearing them for at least the last 15 to 20 years. Every one fits just like the last one. I don’t think the quality can be beat. The new pair that I just purchased are built exactly the same as the first pair that I purchased. The last pair I still use will be backup for the new ones. My old pair have at least a 1,000 miles on them and the souls are still good. The toes are beat up from the blackberry braiers. And now have started to leak. Only boot that I will buy for hunting.
After over 10 years and hundreds of rugged miles of use my old Meindl Denali hunting boots lost their soles. I was pleased to find the Vakkum hunter retains all the good qualities of my old Denali boots with an improved sole. The Vakkums are comfortable out of the box. I took them on a three day hunt to wear them in. i’m very happy to walk for miles in these. The new sole is a tad stiffer and offers more protection than my old Denali’s. Still at the same time they maintaining a level of suppleness important for stalking wary white tails. This is my fourth pair of Meindl boots I am very satisfied with every pair I have owned.
Received my pair of 11.5 D's early this week and have put 8 hours of tough bird mountainous terrain under them already. Temps are 18F in the early am, and rise to 38F later mornings. Rocks, mush, mud, puddles, brush, sand, soggy hillsides - no matter. Boots feel great in all conditions, but today I was crossing some steep wet rocks and was a bit concerned I would slip and fall -- did not happen! Those soles gripped perfectly and the uppers' construction was technical enough to keep this hunter upright and moving. Really impressed with this boot!
Great boots in look and comfort. Only "complaint" is that they eyeholes are not equally placed on both boots resulting in one boot having a significantly shorter lace once laced up.
A good boot so far, but just bought them check back latter.
At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
