Hikers know as well as hunters that if you take care of your feet, your feet will take care of you. But if you develop blisters or other foot injury, you could be in for a world of hurt. Our MT8 socks are made with soft, non-itchy Merino wool, an ideal fabric for a technical hiking sock. Not only does Merino Wool help transfer perspiration from your feet, it also absorbs odors caused by bacteria. We're not saying this is the end of smelly feet, but it's a start. These 11" tall 4mm thick 3.5-ounce socks are woven into a two-layer construction with Merino Wool and advanced bioceramic yarns which provide additional insulation and temperature regulation. Another innovation, these boot-height socks are anatomically designed to the shape of your right and left foot (and marked accordingly), so they fit properly without extra fabric to wad up and cause blisters. Better fitting socks will make your boots fit and feel better too. Cushioning on the sole and reinforced heel and toe areas add comfort and durability. Made in Italy.
46% Merino Wool, 26% Polyamid, 13% Bioceramic, 12% Polypropylene, 3% Elastic for a bit of stretch.
Sizes: Large (8-10.5), Extra Large (11-14)
I started wearing holes in most of my socks. I needed a good sock to withstand a lot pressure from uneven terrain. So far, these socks have been comfortable, stayed in place and feel good on my feet. At this point, these socks have about 50 miles on them and they still look and function great.
Did not stay up as well as I would have liked
I have taken to hand washing and air drying. So far so good. I hate it when sock shrink
Meindl socks do make a difference. My feet feel as good at the end of a long day as they did when I put the socks on in the morning. I did not notice a thickness difference between the MT8 and shorter MT6. I preferred the extra length of the MT8 and Jagd for my Meindl Comfort Fit Hunters. This extra inch and a half-length is not evident in the website pictures. I do notice the benefit of the Left/Right sock design. Also, Meindl told me the only difference between the MT8 and Jagd is color.
Meindl’s socks do make a difference. My feet feel as good at the end of a long day as they did when I put the socks on in the morning. The MT6 is cooler than the Extra MT8 and Jagd because the MT6 has less wool. I did not notice a thickness difference between the MT6 and MT8/Jagd. The most noticeable difference for me is the MT 6 is shorter than the others. It is the perfect length for the Meindl “Hiking” models. The MT6 doesn’t come much above the tops of the taller “Hunting” boot models so I prefer the longer Extra MT8 and Jagd with my Meindl Comfort Fit Hunters. I do notice the benefit of the Left/Right sock design.
