You've thought it through and made an investment in Meindl boots. If there is one thing we'd tell you, now is not the time to scrimp on socks. Quality socks can mean the difference between an enjoyable, successful hunt and limping down the mountain on aching, blistered feet. That is why we are as passionate about socks as we are about boots. These 11" tall 4mm thick 3.5 ounce heavy-weight Merino Wool hunting socks are more than up to the task of virtually all hunting situations. Knit with high-quality Merino Wool and a blend of technical materials specifically designed to create functional, comfortable socks, these boot-height socks incorporate Meindl's strict attention to design and quality as well as our industry-leading work in new technology. Let's start with the Merino wool, which is soft to the touch as well as absorbs odor caused by bacteria, a real plus in hunting camp. Woven into the two-layer construction are innovative bioceramic yarns which provide additional insulation and moisture and temperature regulation. And, for added comfort, these socks are ergonomically designed to the shape of your right and left feet (and marked accordingly), so they fit snuggly without extra fabric that can ball up and cause blister-raising hotspots. A better sock fit means a better, more comfortable fit for your boots, something that can pay dividends when putting in miles on the trail. Cushioning on the soles and reinforced heels and toes add comfort and durability. Made in Italy
46% Merino Wool, 26% Polyamid, 13% Bioceramic, 12% Polypropylene, 3% Elastic for a bit of stretch.

These are the best socks I've put on in a long time. Far better than my DarnTough socks that pinch at the transition from the top of my foot to my ankle. They seem like they'll hold up a long time. The L / R specific sock is nice because they don't bunch up. I highly recommend.
Now that I'm back from my hunting trips, I started wearing my other hiking socks more often. It has reminded me that I have to turn most of them down so the top of the socks doesn't leave an indentation ring around the calf muscle. The Meindl socks do not do this. They do not leave indentations in my calf, and they stay up! These socks just keep getting better. Other socks are now leaving the draw for the donation box.
My feet feel as good at the end of a long day as they did when I put Meindl’s socks on in the morning. I preferred the extra length of the Jagd and MT8 over the MT6 for my Meindl Comfort Fit Hunters. This extra inch and a half-length compared to the MT6 is not evident in the website pictures. The only difference between the MT8 and Jagd is color, gray vs forest green. I do notice the benefit of the Left/Right sock design. These socks did so well on my first elk hunt in the Wyoming mountains, that I ordered extra pairs for my trip back in November. These also did well keeping my feet warm in the cold.
