When your plans take you into the roughest backcountry or on a multi-day backpacking adventure where there will be challenging terrain and obstacles, use enough boot. These uninsulated mountain boots are constructed to get you there and back without you having to worry about your feet. Construction starts with full grain, nubuck leather uppers that provide a high level of support and are backed by waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex® to keep moisture out while allowing perspiration vapor to escape. (Gore-Tex® Stretch lines the heel area without any blister - or hot spot-causing seams.) Internal protection comes from the MFS® (Memory Foam System) that wraps your entire foot in a cushioning custom-like fit. There's also an Air Active® Insole that provides a cushioned moisture-managing footbed that wicks perspiration away from your feet and distributes weight across the entire foot. Another thing we like in these hardcore hikers is the DiGAfix® lacing system that snugs the upper around your instep without creating pressure points, plus it locks your heel in place so there's not friction-and blister-causing hotspots. Traction comes from the Meindl-exclusive Vibram® Multigriff Alpin rigid rubber grip outsole that provides a stable, secure walking platform, especially on the difficult terrain, thanks to aggressive, multi-directional lugs that grab and grip even on uneven terrain and in difficult conditions. These are all-terrain, four season hikers, fully capable of taking on the worst conditions. And they are crampon compatible if the going gets even tougher.
