You've heard of EDC, meaning everyday carry, the essentials you don't leave home without. Well, these are everyday boots. Think upland, pronghorn, mule deer, tree stand hunting and more. Trail, off-trail, rocky, grassy, timbered, open, dry, wet, snowy - these are your boots. And the fact they deliver on the promise of light weight (only 3 lbs. per pair for the uninsulated version.) adds to their every-day, every-season, every-hunt appeal. You've heard, and felt during long days in the field, that every ounce on your feet is like carrying an extra pound on your back. Meindl takes that to heart. Looking at EuroLights in the box, you don't expect such full-featured boots to be so light. And if they're surprisingly light in your hands, wait 'till you lace them on your feet. Light but tough, they feature 9" waxed full-grain Nubuck leather uppers (and reinforced toe cap) to stand up to use and abuse in the gamut of field conditions. A Gore-Tex® waterproof, breathable liner keeps water out but lets perspiration vapor escape. Flex-Zone Venting, a series of strategically placed vents in the forefoot, allows the boot to breathe and move naturally with your feet. Flex-Zone in the Achilles areas enhances your natural stepping motion while a high-performance polyurethane midsole and Air Active insoles provides cushioning and support. And you'll appreciate the over-sized gusset that opens wide for easy on and off; no more struggling to pull them on at the start or kick them off at the end of the day. The Meindl Duo-DUR III Sole, with aggressive multi-directional lugs, provides traction and stable footing on a variety of terrain types. Featuring 300 grams of high-performance GTX Air Fibre® insulation, adding warmth without taking on unnecessary weight. Every day, every man, every woman - these are your boots. Also available in an uninsulated and women's model. Made In Europe.
"Meindl EuroLight Hunter 300-gram Insulated boots will be the perfect hunting boots to keep you comfortable no matter the elements. There my first choice for the hunts when the weather can be unpredictable. Lightweight, flexible and allow me to move from knee-deep snow predator hunting, to upland hunting, pronghorn hunting, and much more."
I’ve been thinking of adding these to my hunting wardrobe. They did not disappoint. Break in time was minimal, very light. Awesome heel and ankle support without feeling like I’m wearing a ski boot. Traction is also great and I’ll be pounding them in the Adirondacks this fall. I’m glad that I spent the extra money. I highly recommend these boots.
I'm very happy with the fit right out of the box. Haven't worn them in the field yet but around the grounds here they are comfy. No slip or rub and so light! A little stiff perhaps but they are brand new and I don't see it as a problem. I am very pleased with my purchase.
These really didn't need much break-in at all. I followed the advice to order a half-size down from my normal sizing, and that was perfect (ordered a 10 when I normally get a 10.5). It is immediately obvious when handling the boots that they are of extremely high quality. The leather is already supple and the boots were comfortable the first time I wore them. Traction is superb.
Like all my other Meindl's I love this boot. Light, rugged and comfortable. Only issue was one of the heels feels a bit tighter than the other - not sure if my right heel has grown or a slight manufacturing error... but as long as I wear them in a few times, they are good to go for week-long treks in the wild New Zealand bush.
Received the new boots about 2 weeks ago. Purchased for an upcoming archery elk hunt in northern AZ. I have been wearing the boots once or twice a week to break them in, before the hunt. First sight out of the box was how sharp the design, look, of the boot was. First thing I did was to oil the boots with the Meindl boot oil. I do have bunions and have had issues breaking in new boots, being extremely painful, NOT these boots, comfortable out of the box. I cant wait till they get broken in, it will probably feel like I am walking on clouds, haha.
At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
