This is my first time buying Meindl. It won't be the last. I chose Meindl because most of their footwear sold in the US is made in Europe. I'm a bit fed up with buying Communist-made disposable shoes/boots. I chose the Comfort Fit Light Hiker because Meindl claims it has a wider toe box which is important to me. I initially purchased in size 11 but had to reorder for a 11.5 because the 11 felt a bit snug. I have many pair of Keens that are all size 12 so let that be a guide for those looking for fitment suggestions. The 11.5 's fit me nicely. I wouldn't say they have a wide toe box but there is room for my toes to splay. They are very comfortable and secure and the craftsmanship and the feel of the leather are top notch. I like them so well that I bought the leather conditioner, the proofing spray and an additional pair of inserts as I plan to keep these boots as long as possible. The service/shipping is first rate. In total I made three separate purchases over the X-Mass holidays and each item arrived within two days. That's better than Amazon Prime!!! Kudos to Meindl!

Major issue with pinching on the top of my foot / behind my toes when walking. Not sure if it's a design issue, size issue, or I just need to break them in. I didn't notice the pinching when initially walking around but as soon as I walked up/down hills or kneeling it became very apparent but it was too late to return. When initially trying them on and walking a bit around the house before hitting a trail they felt fantastic, so I'm hoping the pinching issue works itself out once I wear them more because otherwise they are excellent.
