Hi. This is my first pair of Uninsulated. I ordered them a half size smaller than my Insulated in the past, and they are still plenty loose fit. Boots have the same Comfort Fit that I'm accustomed too, with no break in period. I would possibly go a whole size smaller than my Insulated pair in the future, & being on the Boot Dryer a few more times might tighten them up a bit. Great Boot!
Haven't put many miles on these boots yet but from my initial thoughts these boots will last me a long time and I am happy with my purchase. The sizing is true to what they say and the boots are very comfortable. My only gripe would be there is not finger loop or hook on the back side of the boot which assist's with getting the boot on.
Well made boot, returned boots and will continue to use my comfort fit hikers. More boot than I need at this time
I purchased these in Dec. 2023 because of my previous year's experience of my purchase of a comfort fit hiker and because they both appeared to have the same last. Prior to using them for hunting, I wore them for a total of about 45 miles to ensure that I wouldn't hurt my feet while hunting. I walked in them with different weighted packs and terrain. I had no issues during this time. I used the comfort fit Hunter to hunt Auodad late Jan 2024 in west Texas. The terrian consisted of steep hills with small lose rocks and large boulders. The boots gave me tremendous ankle support and traction. I had no hot spots or blisters on my feet. The only down side I had were that were heavier that my other softer soled hunting boots. They are 1/2 size smaller than my normal size. I bought the wide size and I never had so much toe room with any other boot or shoe.
They were comfortable and I'd recommend them. I also purchased Meindl wet proof spray and sport wax. I used them on my boots prior to hunting and they darkened the leather. I didn't rate these because the weather and terrian was dry.
Great boot performs excellent in rocky terrain in Nevada mtns.
We want your Meindl footwear to not only fit your feet but also your outdoor lifestyle. No matter where you are or what you are exploring, it is critical your footwear fits properly. Our boots and shoes are constructed using different manufacturing techniques and different lasts (forms) which helps us tailor our boots and shoes to excel in different environments.
The construction technique and last we select to build each style can make that particular boot or shoe fit differently, even within our own line of products, which is why it is important for you to follow our fitting guidelines to get you into the correct size.Because the last and the manufacturing technique we use can change the way our footwear fits, Meindl USA gives guidance for proper fitting on each style we sell. All of our sizing recommendations are based off the Brannock measuring device, which is why it is critical to have your foot measured using that device.
We collectively have decades of experience fitting Meindl footwear to the person and activity, so our fitting guidelines come with the knowledge needed to ensure you get the correct fit.At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
