These lasts ensure a fit that will conform to the shape of just about any foot, no matter if you are wearing an alpine boot or a walking shoe.
What is a last? A last is the form we use when building footwear to give a boot it's specific shape. Every footwear brand has their own proprietary lasts they use to build footwear. Those lasts have their own specific shape, width, fit, etc. That is why you might find you wear a size 10 in one brand, but a size 11 in another brand. Meindl Comfort Fit® Last
When it comes to the Meindl Comfort Fit® last the name tells the story, providing superior comfort and fit through the design of the last. The concept of Comfort Fit® is based off building footwear that matches the natural shape of your feet. Built on an anatomically shaped last, all Comfort Fit® styles provide more room in the toe box creating natural space where your foot is the widest. The wider platform at the balls of your feet allows your big toe to remain straight, while providing a more stable platform when out in the field no matter the terrain.
While looking at the shape of your feet they naturally start to narrow through the heel, which is the exact feeling you will have with our Comfort Fit® last. The narrow heel shape locks your feet in place, helping prevent your foot from sliding inside of the boot.

Meindl Standard Last
The original Meindl Standard last has been in the lineup since the beginning, while being refined over the years to what you find today. With our Standard last you are going to have more of an athletic fit that allows your big toe to stay aligned while positioning the rest of your foot comfortably inside the boot to prevent side to side movement at the balls of your feet. Our exclusive design of the Standard last locks your feet in place, providing extra support when you are out on more technical hunts/hikes.
Using our patented heel cups the Standard last is shaped like the heel of your foot, thus allowing your heel to stay locked in, reducing friction inside of the boot further preventing hot spots or blisters when out in the field.
