Meindl's best-selling mountain hunting boot — purpose-built for elk, deer, and backcountry hunters who need one boot ready for everything the mountain brings.
There's a reason the MFS Vakuum Hunter is Meindl's best-selling hunting boot. It doesn't ask you to choose between comfort and performance. It doesn't specialize itself into a corner. It's the boot you reach for when you don't know exactly what the mountain is going to throw at you and you need one that's ready for all of it.
The MFS Vakuum® system is what sets this boot apart from the first wear. Memory foam technology gradually molds to the unique shape of your foot, eliminating the pressure points that turn long elk hunting days into long suffering ones. Combined with the DiGAfix® lacing system and a B/C medium-stiff flex rating, you get a boot that locks your heel firmly in place on steep descents and uneven ground. That kind of support matters most when you're miles from the trailhead and the legs are starting to feel it.
Gore-Tex® waterproof lining keeps moisture out without trapping heat, so your feet stay dry and comfortable whether you're crossing wet meadows at first light or grinding through a late-season rain. The Vibram® outsole handles the rest. Reliable traction on loose rock, slick roots, and soft trail that you stop second-guessing after the first few miles.
Built on a standard last with a durable nubuck leather upper and handcrafted in Germany, the MFS Vakuum Hunter is a 9-inch, non-insulated boot built for three-season mountain hunting. It's not the lightest boot on the market. It's not trying to be. It's built to last, built to perform, and built the way Meindl has been building boots for over 300 years. Because out there, craftsmanship isn't a selling point. It's the whole point.
Made with PFAS chemicals

"Vakuum Hunter boots will carry you to the top of the mountain in all but the most difficult terrain. While the stiff uppers provide maximum ankle support when climbing, the inner reticulated foam booties deliver a solid, foot-gripping fit and feel for comfort and stability. Uninsulated, yet fully waterproof, they’re a solid choice for high-country hunts that could take you well past the timberline and into the rocks above."

I ordered my normal shoe size and they fit very well. Still in the break in period. Check with me after the break in period and my New Mexico Elk hunt.
Every pair Meindl boots I own have been good to me.
Excellent fit very comfortable currently in break-in. So far I love this boot thank you
Great Boots, second pair
Great, highly quality boots. Great for the mountainous, land rock terrain of southern Utah. Can’t be happier with how they are in every category of what makes a quality boot. I’ve been on three hikes/dog training sessions in the mountains. Highly recommend.

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
