"Made for springtime treks and summer overnights in the backcountry with the perfect blend of support and comfort. From the first lace-up, these hikers wear like your favorite, broken-in boot. If you’re looking for one pair of everyday hiking boots, you’ve found your match."
very good boot
I think this is an excellent boot. I put on 36 miles in 2.5 dsys while elk hunting in rough terrain. No problems. The boots fit as well as my.older pair of 8 year old Meindl Cabelas Denalis but have less ankle support
The Vakuum Hiker performed great when hiking on the tundra and mountains in Greenland Denmark. The ancle support was needed walking over the uneven terrain, the soles gripped the rock in steep areas, and the boot felt good around the feet when ascending and descending.
My second pair of Meindl boots. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box. I've only put about 15 miles on them, but anticipate no issues. Yesterday I hiked in heavy wet grass and brush and the outsides of the boots were soaked. My feet stayed dry with no problem. The boots are about a 1/2 size larger than the stated size, so follow Meindl's advice and order a 1/2 size down.
As expected. I've worn nothing by Meindl for hunting and hiking purposes since 2006. My hunt and hike excursions are always in rough country, often off-trail, and when on-trail I'm almost never on forest service trails. I tend to follow wild game trails. They have been nothing short of excellent in durability, comfort, and service.
We want your Meindl footwear to not only fit your feet but also your outdoor lifestyle. No matter where you are or what you are exploring, it is critical your footwear fits properly. Our boots and shoes are constructed using different manufacturing techniques and different lasts (forms) which helps us tailor our boots and shoes to excel in different environments.
The construction technique and last we select to build each style can make that particular boot or shoe fit differently, even within our own line of products, which is why it is important for you to follow our fitting guidelines to get you into the correct size.Because the last and the manufacturing technique we use can change the way our footwear fits, Meindl USA gives guidance for proper fitting on each style we sell. All of our sizing recommendations are based off the Brannock measuring device, which is why it is critical to have your foot measured using that device.
We collectively have decades of experience fitting Meindl footwear to the person and activity, so our fitting guidelines come with the knowledge needed to ensure you get the correct fit.At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
