A personalized-fit hiking and early-season hunting boot for trail hikers and backcountry hunters who want MFS Vakuum® memory foam comfort in a versatile, all-terrain platform built for three-season use.
The MFS Vakuum Hiker brings Meindl's most distinctive fit technology to a versatile hiking and early-season hunting platform. MFS Vakuum®, the same system that defines Meindl's best-selling hunting boot, uses memory foam to gradually adapt to the exact shape of your foot, creating a personalized fit that reduces pressure points and builds long-term comfort the more you wear it. No other boot fits quite like this.
At 7.75 inches tall, the MFS Vakuum Hiker sits between a low-cut trail shoe and a full-height hunting boot. The right amount of coverage and ankle support for technical hiking terrain and early-season hunting without the weight or rigidity of a mountain-specific boot. The B medium flex rating keeps the boot responsive and natural-feeling underfoot, making it equally comfortable on a well-groomed trail or an off-trail early-season elk scouting trip.
Gore-Tex® waterproof lining handles wet conditions reliably. Morning dew, unexpected rain, shallow creek crossings. It keeps moisture out while still breathing during active use. DiGAfix® lacing wraps your foot and ankle with a secure, consistent hold, and the Vibram® outsole delivers the grip and durability that hikers and hunters need across mixed surfaces and varying terrain.
Built on a standard last with a nubuck leather upper, Air Active insole, and handcrafted in Germany to Meindl's exacting standards, the MFS Vakuum Hiker is the boot for people who want ultimate comfort without sacrificing terrain versatility. If you've never worn a boot with MFS Vakuum® technology, this is the one to start with.
No intentionally added PFAS chemicals.
Not the boots for me
I would’ve giving this boot a 5 star, however the toe box is really narrow. Other than the narrow toe box the boot is great, unfortunately I can’t wear them, too painful on my pinky toe
Hey William,
Thank you for the feedback. We understand the frustration with fit as it can vary from brand to brand. With these boots fitting narrow we would recommend trying a boot in our Comfort Fit line such as our Comfort Fit Hiker as they offer a naturally wider toe box than that of the MFS Vakuum Hiker. With Meindl's Comfort Promise we offer free and easy returns & exchanges. At Meindl USA we pride ourselves in the quality of craftsmanship of our products and the service we provide. One of our boot experts will reach out to you directly to discuss sizing and see how we can better meet your needs.
I ordered the same size as I take in a regular shoe, rather than the recommendation to order a half size smaller. Boots were a perfect fit. Right out of the box they felt like a well worn glove. No breaking in required to ascertain they were going to be comfortable
Great boots so far
This is my second pair and highly recommend them to anyone. The first pair lasted me 15yrs and were used on Alaskan caribou hunts, Montana antelope hunts, North Dakota elk hunts, numerous pheasant hunts, and TX quail and deer hunts. They are multi-functional and the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. My second pair are just as comfortable as my first straight out of the box and could not be happier to wear them the next 15yrs.

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
