Meindl's best-selling women's everyday hiking boot for three-season trail hikers who want the Comfort Fit last, MFS System personalized comfort, and Gore-Tex® waterproofing in the most versatile and consistently comfortable women's hiker in the lineup.
The Lady Comfort Fit Meran Light Hiker is Meindl's best-selling women's hiking boot and the reason is simple. It fits. Really fits. The Comfort Fit last is designed specifically for the wider, more anatomical profile of women's feet, and the MFS System memory foam footbed builds on that foundation by gradually molding to the unique shape of your foot over time. The result is a boot that feels right from the first wear and gets better from there.
At 7 inches with an A/B light flex rating, the Meran Light Hiker is the right amount of boot for the full range of three-season hiking that most women actually do. Spring trail hiking, summer mountain days, fall outdoor adventures in mixed conditions. Light enough to feel effortless on long days, capable enough to handle the terrain that everyday hiking involves. A cork insole builds personalized underfoot comfort that improves with every wear.
Gore-Tex® waterproof lining provides reliable three-season protection across the full range of wet conditions that hiking delivers. Nubuck leather upper delivers durable, weather-ready coverage through seasons of regular outdoor use. Handcrafted in Germany on a Comfort Fit last and built to Meindl's exacting standards, the Lady Comfort Fit Meran Light Hiker is the women's everyday hiking boot that earns its best-seller status one well-fitted, comfortable trail day at a time.
No intentionally added PFAS chemicals.

"Even if you never make it off the trail, you still need a good pair of high-perfoming hikers. Whether you wear them every day or just on weekend adventures, these cradle your feet in comfort, while remaining rugged enough for wet or muddy conditions."
I've only taken these out on a short hike, but so far I'm very pleased with my purchase! They fit well, are comfortable, and feel sturdy and supportive. I normally wear a women's 10 and ordered a size 10 (even though they advised ordering a 9.5), and they fit great - there's just the right amount of room to account for thick socks a little swelling after a long hike.
Hi thank you for the new boots! Appreciate all you did to help. I'll be calling also to speak to someone to extend my thanks.
I recently picked up a pair of Meindl Comfort Fit Light Hikers and I'm genuinely impressed. Delivery was lightning-fast—ordered on a Monday and they arrived at my door Thursday morning. Super efficient service.
Right out of the box, these boots feel premium. Lightweight & comfortable!
I haven’t worn these boots on the trail yet, so I can’t speak to long-term performance. That said, I’m posting this review because I searched extensively for a hiking boot with a wide, natural forefoot and solid ankle support, and this was the best option I found.
After a four-day backpacking trip, my wide right foot (with a big-toe bunion) developed blisters from the tight fit of my previous boots (Lowa Renegade). As a result, I ordered nine pairs of hiking boots to try - Hanwag, Zamberlan, Asolo, Keen, and Merrell - in hopes of finding a better fit.
I’m sharing these details in case they help someone else, as finding boots that accommodate my feet has been very difficult. For reference, I wore the Lowa Renegades in an 8.5 wide. I ordered both the 8 and 8.5 in the Lady Comfort Fit Hiker and ultimately kept the 8.5. The forefoot is wider than the Lowa, and the boot runs slightly longer overall.
As an aside, I also wear the Altra Lone Peak trail runners, which offer even more toe room. However, they haven’t proven waterproof as advertised, and I tend to roll my ankle in them on longer hikes - so I don’t think the boot version would meet my needs.
I look forward to putting some miles on these Meindls - fingers crossed that I've found a boot I can keep coming back to!
This was a big plunge, but worth it! These boots are extremely comfortable. So far I've only hiked a maximum of 6 miles in them and my feet were still very happy at the end. I've done a number of road walks, and forest paths as well. I live in New Hampshire, so our mountains are filled with sharp edged granite and long smooth sections of potentially slippery granite slabs. So far so good. I typically wear size 10 wide (women's). I ordered size 10 women's and they are a tiny bit too big, but I believe the 9.5 would be a bit too short. That's a conundrum. The cork insoles are wonderful but I need a tad more arch. I'm working on that!

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
