Meindl's best-selling everyday light hiking boot for regular trail users, outdoor walkers, and anyone who wants a waterproof, all-day comfortable boot built on the Comfort Fit last for the trails and outdoor use they do most.
The Comfort Fit Light Hiker is Meindl's best-selling light hiking boot and once you wear it, it's easy to understand why. This is the boot people put on for a morning hike and find themselves still wearing at dinner. Built for everyday outdoor use, weekend trails, and any situation where you want a comfortable, capable boot that doesn't demand anything of you, the Comfort Fit Light Hiker delivers without fuss.
The Comfort Fit last is the defining feature. Wider, more anatomically shaped, and built for the natural profile of the human foot, it eliminates the pressure points and tight spots that make lesser boots uncomfortable over time. A cork insole that gradually conforms to your foot adds a layer of personalized comfort that improves with every wear, making this a boot that earns its reputation the more you use it.
Waxed nubuck leather provides durability and weather resistance that holds up through regular everyday use. Gore-Tex® waterproof lining handles the wet conditions that everyday outdoor life consistently involves, morning walks through dewy grass, unexpected rain, damp trails, and the Meindl Multigrip sole delivers confident traction on the varied surfaces that light hiking and everyday outdoor use covers.
At 6 inches tall with an A/B light flex rating, the Comfort Fit Light Hiker is light enough for all-day everyday wear and capable enough for trails that demand more than a sneaker. Handcrafted in Germany to Meindl's exacting standards, it's the boot most people end up reaching for every single day.
No intentionally added PFAS chemicals.

"Consider these your daily drivers. Whether you’re working around the yard or heading out for a hike, you can depend on them for a comfortable fit and casual appearance. Plus, they deliver on the trail as well, with flexible insoles and roomy toe box that doesn’t bind or bunch your feet heading uphill or down."

Best overall balance of comfort, durability, and price that I've ever found in footwear in 40yrs. I'm hard on footwear. These are my everyday work shoe/boot that also endure weekly 2 mile trail hikes, and bi-yearly extended wilderness hikes. I buy a new pair once they're no longer water-proof for wilderness treks, which seems to average every 5 years for me, but continue wearing the old ones another couple years for work & dry hikes. They usually give out at the seams just behind my pinky toe, as i have wide feet... which is one reason I used to struggle finding comfortable shoes/boots. The EE size option in Meindl's lineup is much appreciated. I never get more than 2 years out of hiking boots with other brands, and the only ones that could possibly outlast these Meindls tend to be too stiff to be comfortable, unless I want to injure my feet breaking them in. Not these. Perfect fit right out of the box. If Meindl ever discontinued this boot, I'd hope to know in advance so I could purchase 3 pairs. Thanks, Meindl.
Excellent comfort, looks, and ankle stability!
An appropriate one word definition of 'you get what you pay for' would be: MEINDL. My last pair of Light Hikers are still going after more than a dozen years but showing enough sole wear to require a new second pair. I have 2 pairs of their comfort fit walkers, a pair of their Vakuum boots and a pair of hunting boots. All of them are durable, comfortable and have stood the test of time. I simply gave up trying to find a less expensive replacement. Like tires on a truck-foolish to go cheap. Definitely recommend and most certainly order a full size down from normal shoe size.
Simply the best shoes available in all categories!
Just as I expected, very high quality hikers!

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
