A versatile three-season hiking and early-season hunting boot for hikers who explore varied terrain and hunters who need one capable boot from scouting trips through opening day.
The Comfort Fit Hiker was built for the hunter who hikes and the hiker who sometimes hunts and for anyone who covers real ground across unpredictable terrain without wanting to think too hard about their footwear. At 7.25 inches tall, it sits in the sweet spot between a lightweight trail boot and a capable hunting boot, designed to perform across both without compromising either.
The Comfort Fit last is the foundation. Wider and more anatomically shaped than a standard last, it works with your foot instead of against it, reducing fatigue on the long days that serious hiking and early-season hunting demand. A cork insole adds long-term underfoot comfort that gets better the more you wear it, and the B medium flex rating provides natural movement and responsive feel across varied terrain.
Gore-Tex® waterproof lining keeps your feet dry across the morning dew, stream crossings, and the variable conditions that come with shoulder-season use, whether that means a wet September hiking trail or an early-season elk opener in unpredictable mountain weather. DiGAfix® lacing wraps your ankle securely, and the Vibram® outsole delivers the kind of traction you stop second-guessing after the first few outings.
Built with a nubuck leather upper and handcrafted in Germany, the Comfort Fit Hiker is the boot you reach for when the plan is loose, the terrain is mixed, and you want one boot that's ready for all of it.
Made with PFAS chemicals

"Our Number 1 pick for warm-weather hunts that don’t require the support of a calf-high hunting boot, and a great selection for pre-season scouting trips. Equally at home spring, summer and fall on everything from run-and-gun turkey hunts to stalking prairie pronghorns to long days chasing September’s bugles. Uninsulated, with tough, nubuck leather uppers and 100% waterproof Gore-Tex linings."

I never heard of this company till I saw a review in BACKPACKER Magazine. I ended a new boot and gave them a try. Their 30-day money-back warranty helped me decide to try something new. I talked to Sam in support several times, and he helped me find the best boot for my needs. Just wow! No break-in. A 9-mile hike right out of the box, and pure comfort and support. The sole's stiffness seemed balanced. At this point, I can highly recommend giving this boot a try.
I discovered Meindl Hiking Boots when you could only get them at Cabella’s. And since the mid 1990’s they are the only hiking boot I will wear. I have had and worn them in the sloppiest, roughest conditions that nature blesses the adventurer with. I have worn them working 16 to 18 hour days and with my ‘dogs’/ toes still not barking.
Now, nearing that 70 year mark. This new pair is my new old friend. From the Boundary Waters of MN to the Granite everywhere in the Black Hills to the top of Cloud Peak in WY. Meindl hiking boots are an adventurers BEST friend. Loyalty is truly earned and those boots earn my loyalty every day I lace them up.
My husband loves these boots. He has foot issues and the support they offer him is really helpful. These are his 3rd pair. He got 5 years out of the last ones which makes them not as expensive as they seem.
About as perfect as can be.
These are the most comfortable boots I have ever had

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
