A versatile MFS-equipped mountain hiking and early-season hunting boot for hikers and hunters who want the personalized comfort of Meindl's memory foam system in a capable, trail-ready uninsulated platform.
The MFS Bergell Hiker is built for mountain hiking and early-season hunting in terrain that demands a capable, versatile boot. At 7 inches tall with a B medium flex rating, it sits in the sweet spot between lightweight and technical. Enough support and coverage for serious off-trail use without the weight penalty of a full mountain boot.
The MFS System memory foam footbed is the standout feature. Like all MFS-equipped Meindl boots, the Bergell builds a personalized fit over time by gradually conforming to the unique shape of your foot. For hikers who log serious trail miles and hunters who spend extended time on their feet in early-season backcountry, that progressive fit translates directly into reduced fatigue and more comfortable days in the mountains.
The aniline leather upper is distinctive. Softer and more supple than waxed nubuck, it breaks in quickly and conforms to foot movement naturally, making the Bergell feel broken in sooner than most mountain boots. Gore-Tex® waterproofing handles the wet conditions that mountain terrain reliably delivers, morning dew, unexpected weather, stream crossings, while DiGAfix® lacing and the Vibram® outsole keep your footing secure on varied and technical ground.
Built on a standard last and handcrafted in Germany to Meindl's exacting standards, the MFS Bergell Hiker is the versatile uninsulated early-season boot for mountain hikers and hunters who want MFS comfort in a capable, trail-ready package.
Made with PFAS chemicals

"Top rated hiking boot, early season hunting boot, or perfect for all those pre-season scouting trips. Classic uninsulated style that provides you the support needed when you need to get off the trail."

Just like every pair before them!
Excellent boots! I wear 11 in usa, and these are 10.5’s. They fit nice with good toe room. The ball bearing laces are very nice. The boots are very comfortable out of the box and required very minimal break in. The soles are Vibram and tough. Great hiking boot.
The boots fit great. I'm size 12 and ordered 12, contrary to their recommending a half size down. A little extra space in toe but that's great for thicker socks and down hills to prevent toe bang on boot. No negative comments! Prior pair was a 14 year old Meindl (bought via Cabelas). That had powderized the foam and separated from the sole, so bought the Bergell. I like the leather and water proof liner, though I've not been in wet conditions yet.
I bought these hikers to use as everyday farm boots. In the two months since my purchase, I have worn them almost everyday. The boots are light, tough, warm, stable, moisture/mud/manure proof. The boots are well designed and construction is well executed. No signs of any seams opening so far. I am particularly impressed by the lacing system, a mix of ball bearing eyelets, crimping eyelets, and conventional hook eyelets. Boots lace up tight and stay tight. Well done!
Used these 6 days recently driving deer on steep creek hills in Western PA. They were outstanding in every way very light very supportive feet felt great at the end of the day. Would definitely buy again Thanks for such a great boot

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
