A traditionally crafted welted mountain hiking boot for serious rugged terrain hikers who want genuine double-stitched construction, silicone-treated sil-nubuck leather, and a resole-ready build that holds up through decades of demanding mountain use.
The Badile Hiking Boot is where Meindl's traditional welted craftsmanship meets the demands of serious rugged mountain hiking. Built using genuine double-stitched welt construction, the same hand-craft technique that defines the Sonnblick and Super Perfekt, the Badile brings the structural integrity and longevity of traditional bootmaking to a boot purpose-built for technical mountain terrain.
Sil-nubuck leather is the upper material that sets the Badile apart. Silicone-treated nubuck provides a level of natural weather resistance that standard nubuck can't match, repelling water and handling the persistent wet conditions that mountain hiking delivers without requiring constant re-treatment or care. Full leather lining gives the Badile the break-in character that defines genuine leather boot construction. From the first wear, the lining begins to mold to your foot, reducing pressure points, building a more personalized fit, and developing the kind of long-term comfort that synthetic-lined boots approximate but never quite achieve.
Double-stitched welt construction means the Badile can be resoled when the Vibram® outsole eventually wears, extending the life of a well-made boot indefinitely and making it the kind of investment that pays for itself many times over across years of serious mountain use. At 7.5 inches tall on a standard last with a B medium flex rating and Air Active insole, and handcrafted in Germany by craftspeople who have made boots this way for generations, the Badile is the rugged mountain hiking boot for people who buy once and buy right.
No intentionally added PFAS chemicals.

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
