A waterproof everyday trail hiking boot for regular trail users who want Comfort Fit last comfort, Gore-Tex® protection, and reliable all-surface traction in a capable light hiking package built for three-season use.
The Comfort Fit Salo Trail Mid is built for people who hike regularly and want a boot that performs reliably without asking them to overthink it. Trail hiking. Weekend walks. Days when you want to cover ground comfortably and come back feeling good. At 6.5 inches with an A/B light flex rating, it's designed for the kind of everyday outdoor use that most people actually do and it does it exceptionally well.
The Comfort Fit last provides the signature wider, more anatomical fit that makes Meindl's everyday boots so consistently comfortable. A cork insole that molds to your foot over time adds another layer of personalized underfoot comfort that improves with wear, making the Salo Trail Mid a boot that genuinely gets better the more you use it.
Waxed nubuck leather provides durability and weather resistance that holds up through seasons of regular trail use. Gore-Tex® waterproof lining keeps moisture out on wet trails and unexpected rain without compromising breathability on active hiking days. The Meindl Multigrip sole delivers dependable traction across the mix of surfaces that trail hikers encounter, packed dirt, loose gravel, wet roots, without the aggressive lug profile that makes heavier boots feel stiff on groomed trail.
Handcrafted in Germany on a Comfort Fit last, the Comfort Fit Salo Trail Mid is the right choice for everyday hikers who want a capable, comfortable trail boot built to Meindl's exacting standards, without paying for capabilities they don't need.

Great
Description was spot on. These shoes were exactly as described and fit so well. Love the wider toe box!
I have a bunion and these are the only serious hiking boot I have found that do not aggravate it!
Has become my daily boot . I really like the rear foot control without compression of the forefoot . Lightweight and flexible but the leather suede is extremely durable . I live on a ranch in NW Montana it’s proving great in the mountains . Speed lacing is just perfect .
Great boot. For every day, very comfortable, no break in needed.

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
