Overall, I am very satisfied with the Vakuum hiker. It is not as stout as the Hunter version, but fills the void when a B/C boot is not needed. Break-in time was non-existent and great traction on rocky SW terrain.
I’ve been researching boots for some time now. When spending this kinda money, you dang sure want your moneys worth. These Meindl boots fit like a glove. Don’t get discouraged the first week, with this quality of leather, takes a min to get the fit just right. They almost feel to tight, let it break in. Use their wax from the very beginning, you won’t be disappointed. Use their brannock scale they mention, spot on.
Great boots! 1/2” shorter than the last Vakuum pair from cabelas. Any shorter and they’re a tennis boot. I use daily and rotated my old pair for hunting. By far best boots around. Please quit making them shorter. Sometimes a good product doesn’t need to be tinkered with?
Great quality boot from Meindl. Made in Germany. Replacement for my Cabela's perfect hikers which I wore out. These are the same boot as my Cabela's Denali. Glad the Meindl USA is carrying all of these great boots. Now have 5 pair for every hunting season. Thanks
This is my first pair of this style, and they are super comfortable right out of the box. So far they are wearing great.
At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
