Purchased as a gift to my brother-in-law, who specifically wished for RESOLEABLE hiking boots. When thanking me by phone, he mentioned that he found in the box a note from the person who made them!
Got them because of some hoka “water proof” boots failed me by 10am on my first day of a western elk hunt. About 20 miles of dog walking in and so far so good. I do have a toe pinch with my left boot. I have skipped the first eyelets and that seems to help. Going to give 20 more miles before I can fully endorse.
My 1st pair. It’s only been a few weeks. However the fit, feel and quality is great. I usually take a wider shoe so I didn’t drop down a size as recommended and the fit great. I do see they make some stiffer sole shoes which I tend to like more maybe I will try those next. However the A/B is still comfortable for me
Best hiking boot for ease of break-in. And quality!!
These are quality boots here. My feet are wide and I did'nt need the wide boot to fit great. I added a sport insole, and they're as good a fit as anything I've ever had. Build quality seems great.

At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
