Meindl combined two of its most advanced technologies into one serious pair of uninsulated mountain hunting boots. Soft foam pads and MFS Vakuum foam panels securely wrap around the feet for a comfortable, custom-like fit. To further cushion and cradle the feet, Comfort Fit fleece-covered cork footbeds conform to your soles for true custom support. Waxed full grain nubuck leather uppers form durable, flexible shells with full rubber rands wrapping around the boots for extreme protection from wear. At 11 inches high, the Comfort Fit Extreme Hunting Boots provide maximum ankle support on the steepest of inclines, while Vibram’s Multigrip outsoles keep you solidly upright. Fully weatherproof thanks to 100% waterproof Gore-Tex linings. Made in Germany

"You won’t find footwear better suited for the mountains than Meindl’s Comfort Fit Extreme Hunting Boots. These boots are built for the true high-country hunter who climbs well above the timberline in search of sheep, goats and other top-of-the-mountain trophies. Tall, 11-inch shafts protect ankles from rolling on near-vertical traverses, while a durable, functional outsoles grip a variety of terrain from loose scree to heavy talus slopes."
You will not be disappointed by these. They are bulletproof and while rugged still very comfortable just like Meindl always does. The ankle support was key walking through the uneven terrain up in the Yukon and my feet never got wet as long as I kept the water below the top of the boot.
I only had a few weeks to prepare for this moose hunt and did not have any boots on hand that would hold up to the Yukon. I reached Todd ant Meindl USA and was blown away. He immediately recommended these boots and walked me through every detail of breaking them in. I had foot surgery the year prior and some nerve damage in my foot so I was nervous about arch support and comfort, but he reassured me. The cork bedding will take care of me which it did! He suggested some mesh inserts in the event there’s a little extra room, which I did use and also suggested both the long and short MT Jagd heavyweight merino wool socks. The longer ones seem to have a little more meat to them so he suggested try both and go with what feels best inside the boot to avoid slipping. This was extremely helpful. Their customer service is outstanding. The boots worked awesome. A few days it got warm up there so sweat became a bit of a factor. I slipped off my boots while we called and the socks and boots dried out fast. My feet never got wet going through the muck and bogs up there and the ankle support is outstanding. A few times with any other boot I would’ve easily broken my ankle, but these kept everything…
For the first time in decades, I hike without pain. These extremes are great. Like lacing on a pair of orthopedic boots with climbing traction on the bottom. And they look great. Thank you, Meindl.
My husband is happy with these boots. The only comment he has had is that one boot rubs his foot/ankle but the other fits fine an no complaints. Not sure if its a matter of waiting till they are broken in. This is his second pair of Meindl boots but his other pair are insulated. With that being said he is happy with his feet not being as hot and excited to wear them more for early hunting season.
great boot. its replacing my 15-year old Meindl Alaskan Hunter - so far seems to meet the test. boot fit great out of the box and construction seems tight.
Fit and feel great. I've only worn them maybe a dozen times, longest hike maybe 5 miles. Seem great so far.
At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
