Worn this boot style for over 20 some years! No baby dolling! Every day,365 days. High mountains of Colorado Rocky Mountains. Taking care of them when I remembered to. Lasts 2-3 years. These were called "*******" . Meindl should listen to me to make them truly "*******".
I'll start by saying I love my new boots from MEINDL. The fit, support, and warmth they provide are all perfect. I am extremely pleased. Moreover, the customer service I received was exceptional. My shipment, which was supposed to arrive in two days, did not show up on time, and I was about to leave for New Mexico to go turkey hunting. For those familiar with the terrain there, sturdy boots are essential. The two other guys that I was with complained about their feet hurting the entire time, me on the other hand, had no complaints and we walked miles up and down the mountains. MEINDL sent me another pair of boots overnight, which I received just in time for my trip. The original boots I ordered arrived almost a week and a half later, after I returned from my trip, which I then sent back to MEINDL. Thanks for all your help, guys!!!
Best boots I have ever had, right out of the box. I took a chance on wearing them turkey hunting without breaking them in. There as a little discomfort climbing up and down steep hills but I fixed that by tightening them down as I went through the first day. Since them no discomfort at all.
I purchased my Meindl hunting boots about a month ago (March) ahead of an Alaska hunting trip in September. I followed the comprehensive break in instructions and began hiking three weeks ago. I’ve put over 60 miles on them and just completed a 6.5 mile hike which included several stream crossings. The verdict is this is a dry and comfortable boot worth every dollar invested. Great product!!!
Make sure you follow their sizing guidelines and order a half size smaller. Great fit!
So far, so good. Fit and feel are great as we have begun putting miles on them. Full report to follow after a season of hunting in them. Interested in the comparison between these and my Vakum boots.
At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
