"Made for springtime treks and summer overnights in the backcountry with the perfect blend of support and comfort. From the first lace-up, these hikers wear like your favorite, broken-in boot. If you’re looking for one pair of everyday hiking boots, you’ve found your match."
These boots fit great right out of the box. I used to wear romeos and my feet started hurting even though the size was right. When I switched to the Meindle's the support has corrected all of my foot problems.
Husband loves this brand of boot now . He was life long Danner guy and has had issues many times with their products. These boots are well made. comfortable out of the box and are top notch leather etc.
This is my 4th pair of Meindl boots and the quality on each has been outstanding (I get about 2-years of daily wear per pair). I do like this pair over the light hikers for the extra height and lace hooks. These are my "daily drivers" and feel more like comfortable slippers than hiking boots. The treads can shed clay mud (and doggy doo-doo) while providing reliable traction. My overall experience with Meindl boots is that they deliver quality and performance. They are worth the $$.
My second pair, I put lots of miles on them, they are great
Last September I went hunting in Colorado wearing my old Italian made boots from a different brand that I have had for 10 years. I hiked over 25 miles and every time I stopped I had to take my shoes off because my feet were hurting. I think over the years, 72 to be exact, my feet has widened causing me to have problems with those boots. The tightness on the ball of my feet caused my middle toes on both feet to become numb for about three months. I decided I needed a new pair of boots. so I bought these Vakuum light hikers to give them a try back in October. They fit perfect right out of the box. Plenty of toe room so now I have no issues when I am hiking, working in the woods, climbing hills. I love these boots! I decided to wait for about six months before I gave a review. If they hold up into next Fall before Christmas, I am going to order my two son in laws boots from Meindl. I will get them two pairs of boots and they can try them on and figure out which ones they like and I'll send the others back to Meindl and not be charged extra. Thanks again for a great product - my feet are feeling wonderful. My toes are wiggling again!
We want your Meindl footwear to not only fit your feet but also your outdoor lifestyle. No matter where you are or what you are exploring, it is critical your footwear fits properly. Our boots and shoes are constructed using different manufacturing techniques and different lasts (forms) which helps us tailor our boots and shoes to excel in different environments.
The construction technique and last we select to build each style can make that particular boot or shoe fit differently, even within our own line of products, which is why it is important for you to follow our fitting guidelines to get you into the correct size.Because the last and the manufacturing technique we use can change the way our footwear fits, Meindl USA gives guidance for proper fitting on each style we sell. All of our sizing recommendations are based off the Brannock measuring device, which is why it is critical to have your foot measured using that device.
We collectively have decades of experience fitting Meindl footwear to the person and activity, so our fitting guidelines come with the knowledge needed to ensure you get the correct fit.At Meindl we know that quality boots are a significant investment. That is why we are so committed to educating our customers on the best methods of care to make sure your boots continue to perform at their peak and last for years to come.
All Meindl Boots come out of the factory treated and ready for you to get out. However, if you want to ensure the boots are in peak condition from the moment you hit the field you can give them a quick treatment with our Meindl Wet Proof and let that sit for 24 hours and then apply Meindl Sport Wax.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT heat Sport Wax before applying. Doing so can cause it to penetrate too deep and impair the leather’s breathability and wearing comfort. DO NOT apply oils or grease on any of our boots. There are two reasons: First, oil and grease products can cause boots to lose strength and stability. Second, oil or grease will migrate throughout the leather which can cause the rand and outsoles to delaminate from the boot.
Quality boots deserve care and attention. Read our full article to learn how to maintain your Meindl boots from beginning to end.
